The Many Ways Music Can Affect Your Mind and Your Body

Music is a part of our everyday lives. People that have trouble sleeping may find it easier if they have music playing while trying to sleep. Music has a way of making everything that we do a little better. Some people find that they are much more productive if they listen to music while they are working while others may use music to help them through their workout routine. While music may have positive effects on our lives, some music can actually have a negative effect on our general thinking. This is especially true when it comes to children. Teenagers and preteens will take music literally rather than a form of expression. This can lead to dangerous behaviors. There are ways to find out if your music has any negative effects on your thinking but you will need to listen closely.

Other than the need to move at some point in our lives, music is the one thing every culture on this planet has in common. When it comes to music, we also have various ways to make it easier to access our favorite songs. In some countries, the main form of music is heard through live instruments, which means that you would need to be there to hear the latest songs and when the band stops playing the music is gone. Since we rely on digital music players and stereo systems to get our music we never have to stop listing to music. The prolonged exposure to music can actually affect our thinking.

Music can also affect us physically. It has been found that music can actually affect your heart rate, your breathing and even your blood pressure. Plants and animals can also feel the effects of music. In some cases music was used to promote egg production in laying hens, other studies have proven that music helps promote the growth rate in plants.

Children and teenagers that listen to a lot of profane music have been found to use vulgar words in their speech. Some studies have found that you can actually place subliminal messages in music. This can cause the listener to respond either negatively or positively depending on the message that was fed into the music. Parents should monitor the music their children listen to just as much they monitor their TV programs and video games. What you may not hear may change the way your child behaves. This does not mean that you should start censoring every music style you don't understand just take the time to find out exactly what it is they are listening to.

It doesn't matter if you choose to contact movers and relocate away from the United States to Central America or from South America to Eastern Europe, music, just like mathematical equations, is universal and will always help you cope and feel part of your new environment.

Music can affect our lives in various ways. Your choice in music may be changing the way you think without you even realizing it. If you take the time to find out how music affects your mind, you will find it easier to avoid the music that can have a negative impact on your mind.
